Show off your smile, not your braces!
Orthodontics is a branch of dentistry used to improve the position, appearance and function of teeth that are crooked or abnormally arranged. Modern orthodontics does not mean the use of unsightly metal braces to straighten teeth.
At Vicars Cross Dental we offer both the Inman Aligner™ orthodontic system and Invisalign®.
The Inman Aligner is the perfect solution for crowding or protrusion of the front teeth. It is really fast, very safe and great value compared to other systems. With the patented Inman Aligner, your front teeth can be gently guided to an ideal position in a matter of weeks. It is a removable orthodontic appliance that is barely visible, apart from a single clear wire, allowing the wearer to go brace-free for important occasions.
The Inman Aligner uses a coil spring that puts pressure at the back of the teeth that need repositioning and a bar that is placed across the front of the teeth reverses the same pressure. These components work together to "squeeze" teeth together by pushing and pulling them into alignment. The Inman aligner can correct moderate crowding and rotation of teeth however; the Inman Aligner is only used for treating the top and bottom front teeth. It is ideal as a stand- alone treatment or to pre-align teeth prior to further cosmetic options such as bonding or minimal veneers.
Invisalign® is an orthodontic system used worldwide that straightens your teeth using a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners that are custom-made specifically for you. As you replace each aligner every two weeks, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week, gradually moving towards the projected final position.
The length of time the treatment takes is dependent on the level of crowding to begin with. With the Invisalign® technique, you can have the smile that you have always wanted, without the need for traditional braces which are fixed and bonded to your teeth.
Invisalign® can treat the most challenging of cases so we try to say that most patients are suitable candidates.
